A thigh lift is performed to tighten the skin around the inner thigh to form a more aesthetically pleasing frame. Dr. Zaluzec’s goal is to produce slimmer, more contoured thighs that are proportionate to the buttocks, stomach and legs.

  • A thigh lift (or thighplasty) is a surgical procedure performed to remove excess skin, fat, and tissue from the thighs. With age or weight loss, skin loses elasticity and starts to sag which creates an unsightly look on your upper legs. A thigh lift can tighten the skin around the inner thigh to form a more aesthetically pleasing, toned lower body.
  • The thigh lift procedure is performed under general anesthesia. It requires an incision in the groin area that sometimes extends downward around the back of the thigh, or possibly down the inner thigh toward the knees. The type of incision is based on your unique anatomy and aesthetic goals.
  • After the incision is made, Dr. Zaluzec will tighten the tissues in the area to create a more toned contour, she will also use liposuction techniques to smooth the inner thighs. The incisions are closed with sutures, a specialized dressing, and a customized compression garment in order to minimize swelling and promote proper healing.
  • The thigh lift procedure is ideal for patients who are in good general health but have excess skin and tissue within the thigh area as a result of the natural aging process, pregnancy or significant weight loss
  • A thigh lift is most effective on patients who are close to their ideal weight but unhappy with the appearance of their thighs.
  • After surgery, patients may experience mild bruising, swelling and soreness. Discomfort is generally minimal in smaller lifts, but when large amounts of skin are removed, an overnight stay in the hospital may be required.
  • Dr. Zaluzec will carefully monitor your progress during follow-up visits and will provide you with a full aftercare plan. Patients usually see Dr. Zaluzec more frequently in follow-up after thigh lift surgery.
  • Light activity is generally possible after two weeks, with most physical activity allowed at four to six weeks.
  • Results will be visible immediately, but you will see the full results once any bruising or swelling is gone, usually at the six-week mark.
