Learn More About Liposuction for Men

While you can lose weight through rigorous diet and exercise regimens, there may still be areas of excess fat that you simply can’t spot - reduce. Liposuction is a minimally invasive procedure that can permanently remove fat from the body. Liposuction can help you finally be free of stubborn fat deposits and achieve a slimmer, more sculpted figure.

Dr. Zaluzec utilizes the most up-to-date technology and devices during liposuction procedures. These include both VASER (ultrasound-assisted) Liposuction and Power Assisted Liposuction to help achieve her patients’ cosmetic goals.

  • Before your liposuction procedure, you will be administered an anesthetic to ensure your utmost comfort throughout the process. Dr. Zaluzec will review with you whether local or general anesthetic is the best option during your initial consultation.
  • Small, inconspicuous incisions are placed to access areas of excess fat. Dr. Zaluzec will insert the tiny tube or cannula into these incisions and gently release the fat from the tissues. Once the Liposuction is complete, Dr. Zaluzec will carefully close the incisions, apply bandages, and fit you with a customized compression garment to help control any swelling.

Advances in technology allow treatment of a wide range of areas of the face and body:

  • Neck
  • Double chin
  • Chest
  • Upper arms
  • Back
  • Buttocks
  • Abdomen
  • Flanks or “love handles”
  • Bra line
  • Thighs
  • Knees
  • Ankles

Dr. Zaluzec takes pride in offering a wide range of options to her patients. She also offers in-office procedures to assist with non-invasive fat reduction. These include CoolSculpting ® EmSculpt and EmTone ™.

You are a good candidate for Liposuction if:

  • You have been struggling with excess fat, despite diet and exercise.
  • You are close to your desired weight.
  • As with most surgical procedures, you should be in good health and a non-smoker to undergo Liposuction.

  • Dr. Zaluzec will fit you with a customized compression garment after surgery. You may also notice swelling, burning, and bruising. Bruising should resolve within the first two weeks. Swelling improves by one month, and your final contour will continue to evolve over three to six months. Dr. Zaluzec may recommend that you wear a compression garment for up to two months to achieve the smoothest outcome.
  • Patients can return to work and other regular activities as soon as they feel comfortable, which is usually after a few days. Exercise and other strenuous activities should be avoided for a few weeks, or until Dr. Zaluzec clears you. The most important thing to do after surgery is to stay well - hydrated and to walk.
