Eyelid surgery is ideal for almost anyone who suffers from droopy, saggy eyelids. While we always require an in-person consultation to determine candidacy, you may want to wait if:
Eyelid surgery is an outpatient procedure, usually performed under local anesthesia or IV sedation. It can take from one to three hours.
After the eyelid surgery procedure, Dr. Zaluzec may recommend applying lubricating ointment and cold compresses to help aid the healing process and minimize side effects such as swelling, bruising, irritation or dry eyes.
Bruising and swelling are very common after eyelid surgery. Most patients can return to work within seven days, although bruising usually takes one to three weeks to fade (this is commonly referred to as “social downtime”). Strenuous activities should be avoided for at least three to four weeks.
