ZO 3-Step Peel is an innovative treatment performed in-office with a follow-up retinol treatment applied by the patient in the comfort of their own home.
- Uses multi-action ingredients to help improve skin health and treat signs of aging
- Targets: melasma, acne, fine lines and wrinkles, rough skin, large pores and dullness.
- Benefits include a deep exfoliation, skin renewal and stimulation, supports your skin's natural barrier function, provides antioxidant protection and DNA repair and anti-inflammation benefits.
- How does the 3-Step Peel work?
- The first step involves the application of a peel solution to the skin. This solution is made from 5% lactic acid, 17% salicylic acid, and 10% TCA.
- The second step is to apply the 6% Retinol Creme which can now penetrate even deeper thanks to the peel. Retinol stimulates the reduction of wrinkles and firms and tones the skin while helping to even out irregular pigmentation. The ubiquinone component contains two antioxidants, as well as beta-glucan, which helps to protect your DNA. These components help to encourage the cells to regenerate.
- The final step involves the ongoing application of the Calming Creme that stimulates the production of collagen and hyaluronic acid while serving as a barrier against the elements.
- For best results, two to three peels are recommended per year.
ZO Controlled Depth Peel is an intense peel that targets deeper layers of the skin. This peel utilizes a concentration of trichloroacetic acid (TCA) buffered for different skin types, which allows Dr. Zaluzec to precisely tailor treatment for a range of skin conditions. It is a deeper peel than the 3-step peel.
- The ZO Controlled Depth Peel provides effective, long-lasting skin health restoration. This peel dramatically reduces hyperpigmentation from sun damage and age spots and uneven skin tones from acne's post-inflammatory coloring. Patients with rough or dry patches may also see improvement in the texture of their skin. This treatment also lessens the prevalence of fine lines and wrinkles.
- What is trichloroacetic acid?
- TCA (trichloroacetic acid) is a non-toxic chemical that is used by medical professionals to perform therapeutic skin peels. When TCA is applied to the skin, it causes surface skin cells to lift – and then peel off – over a period of several days to one week. When the surface skin peels away, it exposes a new layer of undamaged skin, which has a smoother texture and a more even skin tone.
